Realignment brings major changes for the HCC

Hoosier Authority Staff Report

Football
realignment will have dramatic effects on teams in the Hoosier Crossroads
Conference. The biggest of them all is that the league is now entirely
comprised of 5A schools. Zionsville and Westfield are two of the teams jumping
to the big school class.

The other
significant change is that all ten conference schools will now be split into
just two sectionals. Seven HCC schools will join Carmel in Sectional Four. They
include Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern, Harrison, Lafayette Jeff, McCutcheon,
Noblesville, and Westfield. That will move several of the schools from the
southern semi-state to the northern. The remaining three HCC teams, Avon,
Brownsburg, and Zionsville, will be in Sectional Six. That, of course feeds the
southern route to the state finals. Included in that field will be perennial
power Ben Davis.
