The Hoosier Crossroads Conference fared well in the first weekend of sectional football.  The HCC saw its share of blowouts as well as a few games that went down to the wire.  Six schools from the HCC advanced, including Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern.  Fishers advanced by downing McCutcheon 37-7.  Hamilton Southeastern also posted a lopsided victory, winning 19-0 over Harrison (West Lafayette).  Noblesville was on the winning side of a high scoring game in which the Millers topped Lafayette Jefferson 58-30.  Brownsburg outmatched Indiana Tech by an astounding score of 65-0.  Although the HCC saw its fair share of uneven games, there were a few games that were thrilling right down to the last minute.

Avon and Zionsville both advanced by slim margins against non-conference foes.  Avon beat Ben Davis by a score of 28-24 while Zionsville defeated Terre Haute South 17-14.  Westfield suffered a less fortunate fate, falling to Carmel 21-7.  A majority of the HCC will be in action again this Friday, October 30th.

Fishers will host Carmel at 7 p.m. on Friday night.  The Tigers, who suffered only one loss during the regular season, will try for their 10th win of the year.  They will face the Greyhounds, who went undefeated in the MIC and posted a 9-1 overall record.

Hamilton Southeastern will travel to Noblesville for a rematch of regular season conference play.  Hamilton Southeastern beat the Millers earlier this month by a score of 28-7.  The game is scheduled for 7p.m. on Friday night.

Zionsville will host Brownsburg in a game that should prove to be extremely exciting.  Zionsville and Brownsburg finished third and fourth, respectively, in the conference standings.  Zionsville defeated the Bulldogs just two weeks ago by a score of 7-0.  The 7 p.m. game should feature stellar defense once again.

In the final HCC sectional match up of Halloween weekend, Pike will host Avon at 7 p.m.  The Orioles, who finished 3-6 in the HCC, will face a daunting task when they travel to Pike.  The Red Devils posted nine wins this year, with their only setback coming to Center Grove in August.
