4A #4 Avon 2, 4A #2 Hamilton Southeastern 0 – Avon junior Jenny Esparza hurled a no-hitter and fanned 13 Royal batters as the Orioles snapped Southeastern’s 33-game winning streak.  Avon is 1-0 in HCC play and HSE dropped to 0-1 in the conference. 27-4 (8-1 HCC), lost to eventual state champion Hamilton Southeastern 3-1 in the championship of the Center Grove Regional

Lizzee Campbell-CF (12), hit .411 with 18 stolen bases in ‘07
Mallory Pera-LF (12), hit .378 with 20 RBI’s in ‘07
Jenny Esparza-P (11), 1st team all-state and all-HCC last season with a .35 ERA and 407 strikeouts; hit .418 with 17 doubles
Helen Rogers-C (11), 3rd team all-state and all-HCC last season; hit .409 with 5 homeruns and 32 RBI’s
Nikki Burris-3B (11), hit .343 with 21 RBI’s in ‘07
